Introduction

South China University of Technology is a public university located in Guangzhou, China. It was established in 1952 and a public research-intensive university directly under the Chinese Ministry of Education's supervision. The university covers a total area of 391 hectares, containing three campuses, namely the Wushan Campus, the University Town Campus, and the Guangzhou International Campus, respectively. Also, it has established collaboration and partnerships with more than 200 universities and research centers worldwide to promote student training and scientific research.

Specialty

SCUT was positioned in the world's top 300 universities in the world Ranking of Universities, while the engineering department at 22nd place. According to Clarivate Analytics's Essential Science Indicators, the university has ten subject fields positioned within the global top 1%, including chemistry; materials science; engineering; agricultural science; physics, biology, and biochemistry; computer science; environment and ecology; clinical medicine; and social sciences, general. Also, the university contains international students from over 100 countries. Since the establishment of the university, it has educated more than 380,000 graduates at all levels. It has more than 4822 employees, among whom 2369 are faculty members. The university contains more than 24,861 undergraduates,17144 postgraduates, and 3,352 doctoral students.
